Opportunity:
Certified Respiratory Therapist
Job Details:
* Administer safe and competent respiratory care as ordered by physician with emphasis in specialty areas including Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric and Critical Care
* Monitor mechanical ventilation and administer medications
* Perform patient assessments and understand hemodynamic monitoring implications
* Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures
* Verify respiratory care physician orders and provide accurate patient reports
* Attend department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings
* Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of respiratory care instruments and equipment
* Perform effective airway management including bag/mask ventilation and assist with intubations
* Perform arterial blood gas draws
* Initiate, maintain and monitor ventilator patients and interpret flow volumes and pressure volume curves
* Assist in orientation and training of new employees and students
* Must be graduate of COARC approved Respiratory Care Program with CRT credential
* BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
* NRP certification required within 6 months of hire
* Minimum one year respiratory experience in hospital setting required
* Pulmonary diagnostics experience preferred
* Cardiac diagnostics experience preferred
* Must adhere to facility dress code and maintain patient confidentiality
* Must pass background check, drug screen, and breath alcohol test
