Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

Opportunity:

Med Surg / Overflow Unit / Post Surg / Observation

Job Details:

* Med Surg experience required
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; 3+ years preferred
* At least 1 prior travel assignment required
* Patient ratio of 1:6/7; transitioning to team nursing model with LPNs
* Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
* Unit daily census of 42 patients across 42 beds
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 of 2 holidays if only 2 fall within the assignment
* May be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* Patient diagnoses include medical oncology, GYN surgery, and general med-surg
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Skills required: Telemetry and IV Start
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* EPIC experience preferred
* Active RN license in the state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission

This healthcare facility is a full-service medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and specialty services. The unit supports a diverse patient population including medical oncology, gynecological surgery, and general medical-surgical cases. The facility maintains a high standard of care with robust interdisciplinary support teams and is currently transitioning to a team nursing model to enhance patient care delivery.
