Opportunity:
SLP - Speech Language Pathologist
Job Details:
* 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
* Block scheduling type
* See approximately 7 patients per day
* Patient population includes pediatrics and adolescents
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of hospital experience
* Acute care experience required
* Children's hospital experience preferred
* Pediatric outpatient experience preferred
* Pediatric rehabilitation facility experience preferred
* PICU experience preferred
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Charting in Epic required
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Day patient ratio of 5:1
* Required certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP
* Key skills include acute care, bedside swallow evaluation, oral motor, oral peripheral exam, augmentative and alternative communication devices, conducting and interpreting modified barium swallow studies, Passy Muir valves, trach/vent management, ventilator dependent/assisted patients, TBI, language disorders, thickening agents, international dysphagia diet, modifying diet orders, patient/family education, plan of care, and reassessments
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, interpretation services, and unit secretary
* Floating may be required to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius if qualifications are met
* 40 orientation hours required
* Up to two pre-approved time-off requests permitted
