Opportunity:

RN - Ortho/Surgical

Job Details:

* Work on a 35-bed Orthopedic/Surgical unit on the 5th floor of the Patient Tower
* Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
* Day shift includes 1 charge/CNC, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 unit clerk
* Night shift includes 1 charge/CNC, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs
* Required to float to Med/Renal, Oncology, Med/Surg Tele, CVTS, and Telemetry units
* 4 weekend shifts per schedule or 2 full weekends required
* Night shift weekends include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
* Day shift weekends include Saturday and Sunday
* Perform and assist with bariatric procedures including gastric bypass and gastric sleeves
* Assist with orthopedic surgeries including total hip and total knee replacements
* Assist with general surgeries including laparoscopic cholecystectomies and laparoscopic appendectomies
* Utilize computers on wheels, Hospira pumps, iMobile phones, and MEDITECH EMR system
* Required certification: BLS and active TX RN License
* Preferred certifications: Bariatric Certification, Med/Surg Certification, Ortho Certification, ACLS
* Dress code: Navy scrub top and pants for RNs
* Nails must be clean and healthy; hair must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors
* Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
* Body art should be covered whenever possible
* Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
* Team player with a positive attitude required
