Opportunity:

Sterile Instrument Technician

Job Details:

* Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
* 36 guaranteed hours per week
* Call requirements to be discussed during interview
* Schedule may vary based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
* May be required to work major holidays and pick up one additional shift during schedule period
* May be required to float to the needs of the organization up to competency level
* Process and prepare multi-specialty and general surgery instrumentation
* Provide quality sterile trays, surgical instruments, packs, and medical supplies
* Clean and decontaminate instruments and patient equipment
* Assemble instruments and perform sterilization of supplies
* Monitor and maintain proper levels of instruments, implants, and supplies
* Identify outside vendor instruments, systems, and their locations and maintain their instruments and sets
* Accurately maintain comprehensive quality assurance standards related to sterilization and infection control
* Determine whether processed instrumentation meets stringent criteria for sterility and use in the operating room
* Minimum 2 years of sterile processing technician experience required
* Previous recent travel experience required
* Required certifications: CSPDT or CRCST
* No license required

This facility is an extremely busy and fast-paced healthcare environment serving a 500-mile radius. It is a Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation, featuring 800 inpatient beds and 80 emergency room beds. The volume and pace of this facility are comparable to that of a Level 1 trauma center, making it an excellent environment for experienced healthcare professionals seeking a high-acuity setting.
