Ultrasound Technologist

Job Details:

* Perform ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions
* Recognize normal and pathological features during ultrasound examinations
* Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, performing simple adjustments as needed
* Produce and communicate sonograms effectively to medical staff
* Follow established protocols and safety hazards common to administering ultrasounds, including equipment handling, body mechanics, and patient movement
* Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and medical staff, following written and verbal instructions and procedures
* Apply knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD-9, and CPT coding guidelines
* Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required upon hire
* Must obtain OB/GYN registration with RDMS within 1 year of hire
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per American Heart Association Healthcare Provider standards, renewed every two years
* Minimum one year of experience performing ultrasound procedures in a hospital, clinic, or physician's office preferred
* Completion of a specialized training program in Ultrasonic Technology or on-the-job training with a registered sonographer preferred
