Job Details:
* Evening shift from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM
* On-call required: Weeknight standby call totaling 24 hours every 4 weeks (blocks of 4-hour or 8-hour shifts) and weekend call totaling 24 hours every 4 weeks (12-hour standby shifts x 2)
* Weekend shifts required in lieu of weekday shifts based on department needs
* 1:1 patient ratio
* No floating between units
* 48-hour shifts not approved
* Block schedules not required
* Adult Acute Care Operating Room focused on advanced oncology surgical cases
* Specialties include Bariatrics, Ortho, Podiatry, Neuro, ENT, OMFS, GYN, General, Colorectal, Urology, Hepatobiliary, Plastics, Eye, Vascular, Thoracic, Organ Harvest, and Endovascular
* Adult surgical specialties not performed: Open Heart and Organ Transplant
* Patient age groups: Adults and Geriatrics
* Daily census of 60 patients across 21 rooms
* Must be certified as a surgical technologist or military trained
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Required certifications: BLS, NBSTSA, ASATT
* Must have broad knowledge of surgical equipment including Intuitive Surgical Systems XI and SI (Da Vinci Robotics)
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrub color: Any color
* Parking at no cost
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility operates 418 staffed beds and features a 21-room Adult Acute Care Operating Room with a strong focus on advanced oncology surgical cases. The facility offers a comprehensive range of adult surgical specialties and utilizes the latest surgical technology, including the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System. With a daily OR census of 60 patients, the facility is a high-volume environment that supports a wide array of complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties.
