Opportunity:
RN - PCU - Respiratory Care Unit
Job Details:
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
* Care of ventilated and tracheostomy patients required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* EPIC charting experience required
* Every other weekend requirement, plus must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
* Patient ratios: 1:4 for PCU/IMC; 1:5-6 for MS/Tele
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Must float within skillset without exception
* First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of PCU experience
* IV therapy skills required: accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central/PICC/peripheral line care and management, starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy
* Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, O2 administration and tanks, tracheostomy care and management
* GU/Renal skills required: feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure
* Medication skills required: heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips with no titration, PCA, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, IV insulin protocols
* Cardiac/general skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit monitoring, isolation precautions and PPE
* Patients served: adults and geriatrics
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
