RN - Manager

Job Details:

* Must have Unit Manager experience in a Hospital Setting
* Manager oversees the Med/Tele Unit and the ED Hold/Float Pool
* 25-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 for Med/Surg and 1:4 for Telemetry in a mixed acuity setting
* Day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a 1-hour lunch break
* 4 to 6 week schedule with every other weekend required
* May be asked to participate in the Holiday Rotation
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Must float to other Med/Surg Telemetry units as needed; first to float
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* 1 day of unit orientation with a preceptor
* Cancellation policy: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
* Charting system: Allscripts
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), De-escalation Training, and 8 hours of stroke education (facility will provide 4 additional hours)
* Must have Stroke and Telemetry experience and be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
* RNs print and read their own telemetry strips once per shift using Nihon Kohden monitors
* Common diagnoses include general Med/Surg, active stroke post ICU, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, asthma, polysubstance abuse, diabetes, psychiatric patients, and some post-surgical cases
* Respiratory therapy is available in the building to administer treatments and manage respiratory equipment including nasal cannula, high flow, home CPAP, and BiPAP
