Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts with variable start times including 7-7, 9-9, 10-10, 11-11, and 2-2
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* First to float as needed
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, dependent on patient acuity
* 15-bed emergency room with a 6-bed fast track open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM
* Schedules made 30 to 45 days in advance
* No floating to other units
* 2 to 3 days of floor-specific orientation provided
* Charge nurse available and will take a small patient load if needed
* Nurse aides, unit secretary available 24/7, and tech on for 20 hours per day
* Common diagnoses include stroke, abdominal pain, orthopedic injuries, and psychiatric patients
* Approximately 100 patient visits per day with 500 to 600 pediatric patients seen per month
* Level III trauma experience or above preferred
* Minimum 3 to 5 years of emergency room experience required
* BSN not required
* Navy scrubs required
* EMR system: Cerner (First Net)
* Telemetry: Philips with central monitor tech in ICU monitoring ER patient strips
* Ventilator experience required
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS

The facility maintains around-the-clock physician coverage, with mid-level providers available from 9:00 AM to 2:00 AM, and offers comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy. The department handles a high volume of diverse cases, including trauma, psychiatric, and pediatric patients, supported by robust staffing resources and modern technology.
