Cath Lab RN

Job Details:

* 8-hour day shifts with staggered start times: 7:00 AM?3:30 PM, 8:00 AM?4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM?5:30 PM
* Currently 5x8 shifts with transition to 4x10 shifts
* On-call coverage begins at 3:30 PM and runs until 7:00 AM
* On-call response time of 30 minutes required
* Every 3rd night on-call and every 3rd weekend (full weekend) required
* Holiday coverage handled through call schedule
* EP coverage is an expectation
* Circulating, prepping, placing IVs, sedating patients, and managing all patient needs during procedures
* Work across 3 cath lab suites averaging 13 cases per day
* Common cases include diagnostic and interventional procedures, PCI, TEEs, balloon pumps, pacers, event recorders, and defibrillators
* Charting system: EPIC (CUPID for scheduling and schedule board)
* Equipment includes Volcano and Impella
* Nurses sedate but do not scrub; RAD techs scrub and assist physicians
* Nurse or RAD tech may document in EPIC pre and post procedure
* 1 year of cath lab experience required; prior travel experience highly preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
* BSN not required
* Scrubs provided (light blue); personal shoes required, shoe covers provided
* Unit/department-specific orientation: 1?2 days
* Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license with application; 50-mile radius rule applies

The department supports a high volume of diagnostic and interventional cardiology cases, with 24/7 on-call coverage for interventional and diagnostic cardiologists.
