Opportunity:

RN - Pre/Post (PACU)

Job Details:

* Variable shift schedule with start times staggered between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM depending on area assigned for the day
* Must be flexible in scheduling to meet department needs
* Nurses scheduled for PACU are expected to stay and finish the day as there is no shift relief in outpatient surgery
* Monday through Friday schedule only - no weekends, no holidays, no on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
* 40 orientation hours required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* California state license required; pending license accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
* Charting system experience required; Epic experience required
* Scrubs or business casual attire required
* Care for patient age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Manage all outpatient surgeries including general, orthopedic, urology, and same-day discharge patients
* Responsibilities include Pre-op Assessment, Pre-op Education, Pre-Op Medications, Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and infusion therapy
* Required skills include conscious sedation, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, dysrhythmia recognition/management, pain assessment and management, blood product administration, IV placement and management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, reversal agents, phlebotomy, and pediatric PACU management
* Must be willing to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* RTO restricted to no more than 7 days per contract

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a busy outpatient surgery department providing a wide range of surgical services including general, orthopedic, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, and gynecological procedures. The facility maintains a structured Pre/Post and PACU environment with a daily census of approximately 10 patients and offers interpretation services as interdisciplinary support.
