Opportunity:

RN MS/TELE - transplant and hepatology unit

Job Details:

* Rotating shifts with various days of the week including weekends per unit needs
* No on-call required
* Work on a 36-bed surgical unit specializing in high acuity care for Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology patient populations
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5; ratios may flex up based on staffing and unit needs - candidates must be comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
* Transplant patients staffed at 2:1 or 3:1 ratios during acute phases of healing
* Float within scope to meet facility needs and may float to sister facilities in the Metro region
* Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
* Scrub color: Navy
* Care for patient diagnoses including ESRD, ESLD, thoracic cancers, lung diseases, living organ donors, liver and renal cancers, alcohol use disorders, organ rejection, and general medical diagnoses
* Utilize special equipment including chest and abdominal drains, chest tubes, wound vacs, central lines, BiPAP/CPAP, telemetry, and capnography
* Required skills include blood product administration, central line blood draw, telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and pre/post thoracic surgery care
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and radiology
* Patient age groups: Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
* Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in a high acuity unit required
* BSN preferred
* Required certifications: AHA BLS, CPI
* Colorado or Compact RN license required
* 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
* Up to 10 days of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
