Opportunity:
RN - Labor & Delivery
Job Details:
* 48-hour work week with overtime billable after 48 hours worked in a week
* Shift times: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (days) and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (nights)
* Weekend rotation every other weekend, variable based on need
* No mandatory on-call requirements
* Holiday rotation required on a fair and equitable basis
* Schedule made in 6-week increments and released 2 weeks prior to start; block schedule not guaranteed
* Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required; 5+ years preferred
* First-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
* High acuity experience required including labor management and delivery of high-risk OB patients
* Must be able to triage OB patients, circulate in OR, perform cervical checks, and read/interpret fetal monitoring strips
* Expected to serve as a second set of hands to receive and recover normal newborns as needed
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 non-active laboring, 1:2-3 antepartum dependent on acuity
* High acuity patient types include hypertension, magnesium administration, C-sections, preterm labor, insulin drips, vaginal deliveries, epidurals, inductions, antepartum, PROM, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage
* Up to 300 deliveries per month
* Floating may be required to antepartum (within L&D) and postpartum (4th floor) within scope and experience
* EMR: EPIC experience required
* Equipment used includes Alaris CareFusion IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Centricity/Qx fetal surveillance monitors, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, Panda Warmers, and Covidien SCDs
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Intermediate FHM (AWHONN)
* Scrubs provided by the facility and must not be worn outside of the facility
* Free badge access parking available in designated areas
Facility:
This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU with 34 Labor & Delivery beds, including 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum beds, 4 OB ED beds, and 3 operating rooms, along with 18 postpartum beds. The unit is supported by CNAs, scrub techs, a charge nurse, phlebotomy, break nurses, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and a laborist available around the clock. The facility utilizes advanced technology and maintains robust staffing support to ensure high-quality patient care across a wide range of obstetric needs.
