Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* No on-call requirement
* Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required
* Neuro ICU experience required; medical, surgical, and trauma ICU experience preferred
* Charting system: Cerner/PowerChart required
* Patient ratio: 1:2-3
* 26-bed unit covering trauma, stroke, neuro elective procedures, and general medical ICU patients
* Navy blue scrubs required; white, black, blue, or gray shirt may be worn under scrub top
* Travelers are first to float between two campuses (approximately 12 miles apart) and may float to step down/PCU and other critical care areas as needed
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* Required clinical skills include: IV access and management, central line/PICC line/arterial line management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, infection prevention, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patient care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
* Medication management required: continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and IV insulin protocols
* Cardiac/Neuro skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG, multisystem organ failure management, and CVA/acute stroke management
* Special equipment includes EVDs, CRRT, and arterial lines
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Travelers may be required to make up missed shifts during the same week or at the end of the assignment
* No block scheduling; all schedule requests must be submitted at time of submission
* Orientation is 6 days: Monday through Friday (8-hour days) with a required return the following Monday for Day 6
Facility:
This facility serves as the region's only state-designated Level II Trauma Center and functions as a major referral center for southeastern New Jersey. The facility operates a multidisciplinary critical care program supporting medical, surgical, trauma, and specialty services through collaborative intensivist-led care. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.
