Open Position: Lab Specialist - MLT

MT/MLT - Blood Bank

Job Details:

* Work 8-hour night shifts from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
* Weekend and holiday shifts required as scheduled
* 6-month contract commitment preferred
* No on-call or standby call requirements
* Position will exclusively cover Blood Bank department
* No direct patient contact and no phlebotomy required
* Utilize Epic Beaker LIS system and Sunquest
* Experience with NEO Iris instruments preferred
* Experience with Abbott Chemistry instruments required
* Level 1 trauma experience preferred
* Train on day shift for four weeks before working independently
* No designated scrub color; scrubs or business casual attire acceptable; no open-toed shoes
* Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science or Bachelor's degree in a chemical or biological science required
* High Complexity Testing Personnel (HCTP) License or Trainee License issued by the WV Department of Health required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) via ASCP Verification, Certified Medical Technologist (MT) via AMT Verification
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks

The Blood Bank department operates around the clock, supporting a Level 1 trauma center with advanced laboratory technology and a structured orientation program to ensure staff are fully prepared before working independently. The facility utilizes industry-leading systems and equipment to deliver high-quality patient care.
