Opportunity:

Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Job Details:

* 13-week travel contract
* 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers will be accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, ARRT (R) or RCIS, BLS
* New Jersey nursing license required, can be obtained during compliance
* Must be experienced in both Diagnostic Cardiac Cath lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath lab
* Weekday and weekend on-call required during the 4-week schedule period (discussed during interview)
* Patient ratio: 1 patient per day
* Daily census of 12 patients with 2 rooms available
* Treats adult patient population
* Procedural responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment set up, prep access site, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, and scrubbing to maintain sterile field
* Additional skills include: angioplasty, aortography, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), and temporary pacemaker
* Unit-based competency, medication, and EKG testing required with a passing score of 80%; only one attempt allowed

This facility operates a specialized cardiac catheterization lab offering both diagnostic and interventional cardiac care services. The unit supports a daily census of 12 patients and features dedicated procedure rooms equipped to handle a wide range of cardiovascular interventions. The facility maintains high clinical standards and requires travelers to demonstrate competency across multiple cardiac and vascular procedures to ensure quality patient care.
