Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Inpatient Rehab

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
* Weekend and holiday coverage required (24/7 coverage, 365 days per year)
* Typical patient ratio of 5 patients per nurse
* 15-bed unit consisting of 13 single rooms and 1 double room
* Care for inpatient rehabilitation patients experiencing life-changing events such as surgeries, strokes, and multi-trauma, with the goal of improving functional gain
* Occasionally required to titrate drips including heparin drips based on lab results; may also administer blood infusions and IVIG
* Charge nurses often take a modified assignment of 2-3 patients but may take a full assignment when circumstances require
* Two CNAs staffed on the unit with ratios of 1:7 during day shifts and 1:11 during night shifts
* No telemetry on the unit
* Scheduling managed by unit management with no block schedule or set patterns
* Floating to inpatient settings required if unit is overstaffed
* Charting system: EPIC
* Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving of 50+ lbs throughout each 12-hour shift
* MedSurg experience required; inpatient rehab nursing experience preferred but not required
* BSN not required
* Required certification: BLS
* Professional scrubs in any color required
