Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg Trauma

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
* 2 weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
* 34-bed unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
* Tech support available on both day and night shifts
* Unit secretary available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Document patient care using Meditech documentation system
* Operate equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
* Required skills include Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
* Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members, conduct bedside shift report, and include patients and family members in their plan of care
* Contract labor is first to float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
* Required certifications: BLS
* Active RN license required
* Navy scrub tops and bottoms required
