Opportunity:

Medical Lab Technician

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 7 on/7 off schedule
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
* Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline required
* Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP BOC or equivalent or relevant specialty lab certification required
* Chemistry experience required; Hematology and/or Chemistry experience highly preferred
* Prepare specimens for testing and perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
* Perform quality control and troubleshoot quality control errors and maintenance procedures
* Recognize and evaluate computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory instruments
* Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment
* Communicate technical information to medical and lay persons
* Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures
* Participate in continuing education
* Recognize normal and abnormal values
* Model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities
* Serve patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
