Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Details:

* Night shift position
* Contract length options of 13 or 26 weeks available
* 48-hour or 36-hour shift blocks accepted
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
* Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Self-scheduling available
* Up to two pre-approved time off requests
* 36-hour orientation required
* Must float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of 22 beds with a daily census of 20
* Patient diagnoses include STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, PPM placement, defibrillator placement, ablations, arrhythmias, CVA, and medical telemetry overflow
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIH
* Medical and arrhythmia exam required
* Required skills include: blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, CVA care, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, PCA, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, tracheostomy care/management, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary

This health system operates a robust cardiac stepdown unit with 22 beds and a strong interdisciplinary support team. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac care services including telemetry monitoring and management of complex cardiac conditions. The unit is supported by IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
