Opportunity:
MS/ICU/IMC RN
Job Details:
* Straight night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
* Every other weekend requirement
* Every other holiday requirement
* ICU or Pediatrics experience preferred
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: MS 1:5 days / 1:6 nights, IMC 1:4, ICU 1:2, Pediatrics 1:3-4
* CNA support available with ratios of 1:8-10 on days and nights
* Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Insulin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, PCA Fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine
* Required to read rhythm strips and report to provider as needed; telemetry monitored remotely by tele techs
* Tele monitors: GE ApexPro CH
* Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators; Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
* Charge nurses take patient assignments; House Supervisor rounds throughout the building
* Floating requirements include in-house coverage to ED, UC, and PACU as needed, as well as interfacility floating
* Block scheduling utilized when possible
* On-call rotation possible in the event of low census; rare cancellations
* Charting system: Cerner
* Navy scrubs required for RNs
* 1 day of computer-based training and hospital orientation, followed by 1-2 days of on-shift orientation
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS

This acute care facility operates a combined MS/ICU/IMC unit with 20 beds, serving a predominantly elderly patient population in the surrounding region. The facility manages a wide range of complex diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, orthopedic, and pediatric cases. The organization provides comprehensive support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy and utilizes Cerner as its electronic health record system.
