RN - Multi-Unit Float

Job Details:

* Work across multiple units including ICU, PCU, Med-Surg, Rehab, ED Holding, and ACLS Transport roles
* ICU patient ratio 1:2 based on acuity; PCU and CCU 1:4 based on acuity; Medical and Surgical 1:5; Rehab 2:8 team model (RN, LPN, Tech)
* ED Holding is a fast-paced unit with mixed diagnoses; traveler must be flexible and resourceful
* ACLS Transport RN will transport patients throughout entire hospital including inpatient units, ED, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PACU, and Cath Lab; night shift ACLS RN will assist ED Holding unit after 2300
* May float for partial shifts within scope of practice
* First-time travelers accepted
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required for ICU positions; minimum 2 years of PCU experience required for PCU positions; minimum 2 years of acute care experience required for Med-Surg positions
* Required certifications for ICU and PCU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Med-Surg: BLS, NIHSS
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Skills required vary by unit:
- ICU: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy, general drains, trachs
- PCU: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, trachs, IV med titration (Amiodarone, Cardizem, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, non-DKA insulin, heparin, occasionally Cardene)
- Med-Surg: IVs, PCAs, chest tubes, drains, ostomies, IV antibiotics
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
* Strong communication and patient teaching/education skills required
* Traveler Telemetry Competency required
* Scrubs any color accepted except camouflage; must look professional
* No phones permitted on the unit; breaks are required

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds, offering a wide range of inpatient services including ICU, CVICU, PCU, Med-Surg, Oncology, Ortho, Palliative Care, Rehab, and ED Holding units. The organization provides robust support services including 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists, ensuring a well-supported clinical environment for both staff and patients.
