Job Details:

* Night shift position with every other weekend requirement
* Holidays required as needed
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Floating to postpartum unit required as needed
* 3-day unit orientation provided for travelers
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Work in a Level 3 high-risk facility with 17 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds, and 16 postpartum beds
* Facility delivers approximately 250 births per month
* Follow AWHONN guidelines: 2:1 ratio for normal laboring patients, 1:1 for high-risk labors, 4:1 couplet care, and 2:1 to 4:1 antepartum depending on acuity
* Must be independent and confident with vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, high-risk laboring and delivery patients, and antepartum patients
* Circulate and recover own C-section patients
* Float to mother-baby unit and other units as needed
* Required to titrate drips including Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
* RNs must read their own fetal monitor strips - no tele techs on unit
* OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia available in-house 24/7
* Certified Surgical Techs and Secretaries serve as ancillary staff
* Charting system: Cerner experience required
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; light blue OR scrubs available for OR use
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS (AHA), NRP

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive Labor and Delivery unit functioning as a Level 3 high-risk center, equipped with modern delivery suites, dedicated OR suites for C-sections, triage beds, and postpartum accommodations. The unit is supported by certified surgical technicians, secretarial staff, and around-the-clock OB/Neonatology and anesthesia coverage to ensure the highest level of patient care. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic health records system and follows AWHONN guidelines to maintain safe staffing ratios across all patient acuity levels.
