Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* 2 weekends required per 4-week period
* 2 out of 3 holidays required
* No floating outside of the ER
* Patient ratio of 1:4 with an average of 210 patients seen
* Unit consists of 33 total patient care rooms, 25 of which are equipped with cardiac monitors
* Triage area staffed with midlevels, RNs, and LVNs with 2 triage bays
* Charge nurse available 24/7
* ER Techs with EMT, MA, or CNA experience on staff to perform tech duties and EKGs
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7; pharmacy available 24/7 with Omnicell
* No IV team on site
* Telemetry system: GE with central monitor stations at both nurses' stations
* Ventilator management handled per respiratory therapy
* Up to 5 physicians and 3 midlevels on staff at a time
* Common patients include routine ER cases; STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases are transferred out
* ER nurses will take ER holds when needed
* Unit is self-scheduling with scheduler's right to rebalance as needed; scheduling requests cannot be accommodated
* Up to 6 shifts of orientation with a preceptor provided
* Cerner EMR experience required; please note on resume which facility Cerner was used at
* Must have strong and thorough documentation skills
* Scrub color: Navy blue; scrub jackets, undershirts must be navy, white, or black
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 33-bed emergency department and serves as the base hospital for local EMS services. The facility is stroke certified and follows EMTALA guidelines, ensuring all patients are stabilized and treated regardless of insurance or ability to pay. The emergency department is supported by round-the-clock respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and a dedicated charge nurse, providing a well-resourced environment for delivering high-quality patient care.
