Opportunity:

Surgical Technician

Job Details:

* 13-week assignment with varied 12-hour day/evening shifts
* On-call required
* Create and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
* Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening
* Anticipate the need for equipment and supplies before cases begin
* Assure all equipment is functioning properly before use
* Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
* Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the special needs, techniques, and requirements of individual surgeons
* Ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence of a sales representative, including sports medicine and trauma
* Assist RN with completion of operative charges and recording of hardware used during procedures
* Collect specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with surgeon
* High school diploma required
* One year of experience in an operating room as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Technician training required
* Certification or eligibility for certification preferred
* American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required
* Housing may be available depending on availability within walking distance to the facility
