Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Details:

* 48 hours guaranteed per week preferred
* 3 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Must have cardiac telemetry or PCU/ICU experience
* Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
* Must have experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
* Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
* Procedures performed on unit include IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
* Equipment used includes Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap, Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitor, EKG Machine, Bladder Scanner, Doppler, and Imobile for team communication
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Unit support includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
* Contract nurses may be floated to any area where competency has been demonstrated
* Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, using preferred names, involving patients in bedside shift report, and maintaining responsiveness to call lights
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required dress code: Navy blue scrubs; black scrub pants may be worn with a navy blue top

The unit has been recognized by the American Heart Association with the Get With the Guidelines - Heart Failure Gold Plus with Honor Roll award, reflecting its commitment to high-quality cardiac care.
