Opportunity:

Echocardiographer

Job Details:

* Day shift position working 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
* 4 days, 10-hour shifts per week
* Full-time position
* Weekend availability required
* High volume hospital environment - must be able to perform 9 studies per shift
* Perform diagnostic echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients
* Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams
* Assist cardiologist during dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and providing pertinent diagnostic information
* Coordinate activities with interrelated hospital departments including scheduling exams, transporting patients, and ensuring accurate billing information
* Respond to patient needs during exams and report changes in patient condition to physician or nurse in charge
* Share responsibility for on-call coverage for echo emergency exams outside of regular working hours
* Maintain quality control of equipment operation and quality of examinations performed
* Log patients and exams and file patient records in the department
* Order echo supplies and maintain clean and stocked exam rooms
* Participate in Performance Improvement activities at departmental and hospital-wide levels
* Two years of active echocardiography experience preferred
* Required certifications: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation, State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License, BLS certification issued through American Heart Association
