Opportunity:

RN - Telemetry (Float Pool)

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with no block scheduling
* Float pool position based at St. John's Regional with required floating to St. John's Pleasant Valley (9 miles away)
* May also float to 3North, 2South, or the ER to manage med/surg and telemetry holds
* Every other weekend requirement; 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
* Holiday requirement: one major and one minor holiday
* Patient ratios: 1:4 telemetry at primary site; 1:5 med/surg, 1:4 telemetry, and 1:3 DOU at float site
* Must be able to read telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system; monitor tech will read strips and RN will sign off
* Required drip experience: amiodarone, cardizem, and heparin (non-titrating)
* BiPAP and CPAP experience required; no ventilator management required
* High acuity patient population including pneumonia, end-stage renal disease, post cath lab, respiratory distress, CHF, and COPD
* Float site patient population includes post-surgical, orthopedic, and cardiac patients
* Primary care nursing environment with limited resources; nurses must be prepared to work independently and remain highly engaged
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7 at both facilities
* Charting system: Cerner EMR
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Scrub color: Navy
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience required; travel experience preferred
* Experience with drips required; chest tube experience preferred
* BSN not required; California nursing license required

This acute care facility operates a 31-bed telemetry unit with a high-acuity patient population and comprehensive support services. The organization maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverage across multiple campuses, providing nurses with essential resources in a fast-paced clinical environment. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry monitoring systems, and features a collaborative staffing model including charge nurses, resource RNs, nurse aides, and a hospitalist shared between campuses.
