Opportunity:
Surgical Technologist
Job Details:
* 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience preferred
* 1 year of surgical technologist experience in an acute care operating room preferred
* Functions in the role of scrub person under the supervision of the surgeon and RN
* Ensures the operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly
* Responsible for assuring completion of case carts according to preference cards
* Recognizes and interprets preference cards for the procurement of instruments and supplies
* Communicates with operating room staff and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases
* Reviews daily schedule with charge nurse and day coordinator of sterile processing to identify possible turnover delays and scheduling issues
* Coordinates with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment
* Must be able to work varied shifts including weekends and after-hours shifts
* On-call work may be required
* Position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek
* Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
* Must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
* Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
* Required: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program
* Required: American Heart Association BLS certification
* Required: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
