Opportunity:
OT - Occupational Therapist
Job Details:
* Work day shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break
* Will work one weekend day per month
* Must be licensed with the State of Nebraska as an Occupational Therapist
* Must be certified to administer Electrotherapeutic Agents, Deep Thermal Agents, and Superficial Thermal Agents (PAM certified)
* Active BLS certification issued through American Heart Association required
* 1-2 years of experience in a rural health setting preferred; new graduates will be considered
* Rural health setting experience preferred; reliable personal transportation required as area does not have rideshare services
* Evaluate, plan, coordinate, administer, and supervise occupational therapy treatments to restore functional abilities, relieve pain, and prevent or minimize disability
* Perform age-specific patient care through evaluation, assessment, treatment planning, coordination, and supervision of occupational therapy services
* Provide OT services including therapeutic exercise, splinting, modalities, and self-care training using client-centered and evidence-based practice
* Competent in treating all age groups as demonstrated by age-specific competency testing
* Complete all patient care documentation including evaluations, screens, discharge summaries, re-evaluations, daily notes, and supervisory visits per hospital and professional governing body requirements
* Provide education and communicate with patients, families, team members, employees, and caregivers
* Collaborate with physical therapy, speech therapy, nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
* Supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) and OT students in accordance with professional practice act and Medicare guidelines
* Participate in departmental quality assurance projects, policy and procedure reviews, and hospital quality teams
* Provide supervision of Swing Bed activities
* Attend over 80% of Rehab department meetings
