RN - Medical Surgical

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with rotating days and nights based on unit needs
* Every other weekend and every other holiday required
* Self-scheduling available, though days off are only guaranteed as listed in contract
* Schedule may be adjusted to balance unit needs
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 during day shift (7:00 AM to 11:00 PM) and 1:5-6 during night shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
* Provide nursing care to adult patients on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit with all single rooms
* Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments, administer medications, and communicate with interdisciplinary team
* Update patients and families on plan of care and advocate for patient needs
* Document all patient cares accurately and thoroughly
* May be required to float to other med-surg units and locations within Fargo as needed
* Utilize equipment including EPIC, OmniCell, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, Language Line, and Zebra phones
* 8-hour classroom training in the LEAD Center followed by 24 hours of unit orientation
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Must badge in and out at facility
* Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds) required
* Experience in a busy Level 1 Trauma Center required
* Travel experience required
* EPIC experience required - must be noted on resume
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
* Active North Dakota or Compact RN License required
* Cannot be living within 60 miles of the facility

This facility is a large acute care hospital operating as a Level 1 Trauma Center with 250 or more beds. The medical-surgical unit consists of 32 all-private rooms and is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team. The facility utilizes advanced technology and equipment to support high-quality patient care and maintains structured orientation and training programs to onboard clinical staff effectively.
