Job Details:
* Strong neuro experience required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; travel experience required
* No on-call required
* Weekend coverage required
* Self-scheduling
* Patient ratios of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float required between ICU overflow and PCU/Telemetry
* May float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
* Pre-approved time off: one block; all RTO requests must be submitted at time of submittal
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* 12-hour orientation
* Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
* Any color scrubs permitted
* Free parking available
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Daily census of 28 with 24 beds plus 12 overflow beds
* Patient diagnoses include cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, STEMI, motor vehicle accidents, and orthopedic cases
* High acuity neuro population; Level 2 Trauma, Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, STEMI receiving, CABG/Valve/IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical cases
* Procedures include lines, intubations, cardiac and GI procedures at bedside for unstable patients
* Travelers will not be required to assist with ICP monitoring or placement, IABP, conscious sedation, GI procedures, or chest tube insertions
* Special equipment includes Alaris pumps, Roche meters, Bedside Phillips monitoring, ventilators, suction, drains, and chest tubes
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, LA City Fire Card
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years, to be submitted during compliance process prior to start
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Locals accepted within 50-mile radius

This is an acute care Magnet-designated facility with 377 total staffed beds, recognized for its high standards of nursing excellence and patient care. The facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center and Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, offering advanced cardiac services including STEMI receiving, CABG, valve procedures, and IABP. The unit is known for its fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a collaborative and supportive team culture where travelers are fully integrated as part of the team.
