Opportunity:

RN - Psychiatric

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts required with coverage needed seven days a week including weekends
* 48 hours guaranteed preferred
* Three 12-hour shifts required per day with no guaranteed days off unless specified in contract
* No on-call requirements
* Float policy based on greatest unit need
* Work across multiple units including ADOL (adolescent patients ages 12-18), Serenity (lower acuity adult unit), ITU (higher acuity adult unit for thought disorder diagnoses), SRAD (senior lifestyle patients), and VINE (lower acuity adult unit)
* Patient ratios of 8:1 for nurses
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Nurses required to wear blue scrubs
* Assess patients' mental health status including recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems
* Develop individualized care plans for patients with mental health and behavioral issues including setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes
* Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions with knowledge of psychotropic medications required
* Provide crisis intervention and short-term support to patients in crisis including de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management
* Utilize therapeutic communication to build trust and rapport with patients through active listening and empathy
* Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects
* Required certifications: BLS and active Blue Card CPI
