Job Details:

* Variable start times of 7:00 AM or 9:00 AM
* May need to cover one night shift within contract as needed
* On-call required - call will be distributed equally amongst all nursing staff every 6 weeks, which could be up to 6-8 shifts in a 6-week period (including nights, evenings, and weekends/8 hours)
* Float required between sister facilities
* Weekend coverage required
* 40 orientation hours
* Daily census of approximately 25 cases
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include orthopedics (total joints and ortho trauma), neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general, GU, and GYN
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* Trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience required
* Experience with OR RN duties including trauma, ortho, general, vascular, neuro, plastics, and ENT required
* Trauma Level I experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certification: BLS
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal
* No unit secretary on night shift - night shifts are usually staffed with 2 people (1 RN/1 ST or 2 RNs, one acting as scrub)
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

Facility:

This acute care hospital operates with 277 total staffed beds and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services. The facility supports a high-acuity patient population with specialized capabilities in orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, robotics, and general surgery. Free parking is available for staff, and the facility utilizes Epic as its charting system.
