Opportunity:

Dialysis Tech

Job Details:

* Provide specialized direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse
* Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments and monitor patients throughout treatments
* Maintain technical knowledge and ability to maintain dialysis equipment in conjunction with the Biomedical Team
* Understand and apply infection prevention protocols for dialysis biomedical equipment
* Perform daily and intermittent water room checks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
* Perform monthly water room disinfection or as required based on testing results and parameters
* Record equipment status, repairs, and other regulatory documentation
* Interview patients, collect patient assessment data, and measure vital signs including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, and weight
* Set up patient stations including chair, supplies, and machine pre-treatment, and enter data into machine
* Take down and clean machines post-treatment
* Cannulate patient access and remove needles when treatment is complete
* Initiate and perform treatments and collect lab specimens
* Prepare heparin for catheter flush and perform dialysis catheter care
* Access catheter, flush, and heparinize catheter
* Perform water, dialysate, and machine safety checks
* Perform LAL, water, and dialysate collection for testing
* Inventory and order medical supplies
* Perform vascular access monitoring and data collection
* Participate in departmental performance improvement, education and training, and collection of lab specimens
* Required certifications: Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (NNCC or BONET) and AHA Provider Level BLS
