Opportunity:

RN - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

* 48 hours guaranteed per week preferred
* Self-scheduling with 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
* No on-call requirements
* Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit
* Unit support includes 2 PCTs and 1 Unit Secretary per shift
* Document using Meditech electronic documentation system
* Utilize Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, Pyxis, and bedside computers
* Care for patients with moderate physiologic instability including COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients
* Provide cardiac and respiratory monitoring and management every 2-4 hours for hemodynamically stable patients
* Administer oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP (up to 80%), and AirVo low flow
* Perform nursing interventions, vital signs, continuous cardiac monitoring, and blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours
* Conduct neurological monitoring including NIHSS assessments
* Float policy order: Travelers first, then PRN staff, then by date last floated
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
* Required dress code: Royal Blue scrubs

This facility operates an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in the care of cardiac and pulmonary patients requiring moderate physiologic support. The unit provides a level of care between ICU and Medical/Surgical, equipped with modern technology including bedside computers in every room. The team emphasizes nurse courtesy, respect, and collaborative patient care, maintaining high standards for patient experience.
