Job Details:
* Must be willing to float between adult and pediatric units as needed
* 12-hour shifts with day and night options available
* Patient ratios: Day shift 1:5-6; Night shift 1:13 with resource support
* Weekend rotation every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
* No on-call requirements
* Overtime available
* Holiday rotation expected
* Modified self-scheduling: travelers sign up for preferred shifts, subject to manager review and adjustment
* Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience required; pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
* First-time travelers accepted
* Care for both voluntary and involuntary admissions across pediatric (ages 5-18) and adult (18+ through geriatric) populations
* Common diagnoses include Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder
* Provide traditional medical and psychiatric care along with specialized therapies such as pet therapy, group sessions, and community gardens
* Skills required include de-escalation, experience with physical restraints, medication administration, ability to run groups, and documentation
* May have opportunity to act as Charge Nurse, though not required
* May function as code leader during patient escalations; debriefing form required after escalations
* Charting system: Cerner
* Equipment: Pyxis
* Scrub color: Any solid color, must be professional

* Required certifications: BLS, Maine State License; MOAB certification obtained on site during orientation
Facility:
This is a freestanding acute inpatient behavioral health facility with 94 beds, including 50 pediatric beds and 44 adult beds. All patients are medically cleared through a contracted emergency department located five minutes away prior to admission. The facility provides a full support team including a Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatrist, Occupational Therapist, Psych Techs, and on-site security. Specialized therapeutic programming includes pet therapy, group sessions, and community gardens, reflecting the facility's commitment to comprehensive behavioral health care.
