Med Surg RN
Job Details:
* Self-scheduling with no block schedules required
* Weekends required - 6 shifts per 6-week period
* 48-hour shifts approved
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios of 1:4.5 for days, nights, and weekends
* Float required within Acute Care/Med Surg units
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility - refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* 24-hour orientation
* Treat adult and geriatric patient populations
* 27-bed unit focusing on acute care surgery, emergency general surgery, and Med Surg overflow
* Epic charting system experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Level II Trauma experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Required skills include: Blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, central line blood draw, chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, use of rapid response/code teams, and starting and maintaining IVs
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN) is solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire - print tops are not acceptable
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lot designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* 2 professional references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility is a 379-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical services to the community. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The organization is expanding its services with the opening of a new acute care surgery, trauma, and emergency general surgery unit.
