Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac

Job Details:

* Work on a 30-bed Cardiac unit with a patient ratio of 5-6:1
* Unit staffing includes unit clerk on days, 2-3 PCTs day and night, nursing supervisor, and hospitalists
* Scheduling requires the equivalent of every other weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
* Floating policy includes other medical/surgical areas such as general MS, ortho, PCU, and MS surgical with oncology on a rotating basis unless skill mix is needed
* Cardiac knowledge preferred
* Advanced knowledge of Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone drips required
* Procedures performed on unit include chest tube management, wound vac management, and EKGs
* Documentation system: Meditech-HCA version
* Equipment used: Welch Allyn vitals neuron, Novameter glucose, Philips Telemetry, and MP2s
* Medications managed via WOW with med drawers and PyxisES dispensing system
* Documentation of telemetry application, acknowledging rhythm strips, and placing in chart each shift required
* Patient experience requirements include bedside rounding, hourly rounding with 5Ps checked, and reporting to PCTs of known needs at beginning and during shifts
* Dress code: Navy scrubs for RNs; no artificial or gel nails or gel nail polish permitted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH

Facility:

This medical center operates a dedicated cardiac unit located on the third floor of the main building, featuring 30 beds and comprehensive cardiac care services. The facility supports shared governance at both the unit and facility level and recognizes staff excellence through multiple award programs. The unit is led by an experienced team of charge nurses with significant long-term seniority on both day and night shifts, reflecting a stable and supportive work environment.
