RN - Surgical Services

Job Details:

* 5-day, 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
* Full-time position
* On-call weekend requirement with 2 weekend call shifts per month and 1 call night per week
* Blocked scheduling not accommodated
* Floating to other departments within Surgical Services required
* EMR system used: EPIC
* Practice independently in clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations
* Provide routine and complex nursing care with ability to focus on long-range goals and plans
* Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
* Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
* Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitor for side-effects and effectiveness
* Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
* Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
* Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
* Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
* Required certifications: BLS via AHA, ACLS via AHA
* RN license in state of employment or compact required
