Opportunity:
Patient Registrar
Job Details:
* Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* 26-week contract
* Local position
* High school diploma or GED required
* EPIC experience at the front desk required
* Spanish fluency preferred
* Greet and register patients, visitors, vendors, and staff and direct them to appropriate departments or clinical areas
* Verify and complete patient registration and check-in using the electronic health record system per practice guidelines
* Collect demographic and billing information in accordance with Meaningful Use guidelines
* Schedule office appointments per practice scheduling guidelines
* Answer telephone calls, determine caller needs, schedule or modify appointments, and direct callers to the appropriate party
* Collect copayments via cash, check, and credit card and reconcile daily copayment batches
* Prepare patient referrals for billing and deposit batches
* Verify insurance status including Medicaid authorizations and scan insurance cards and photo IDs into the EHR
* Handle work queue tasks and referral requests
* Arrange patient transportation as needed following established guidelines
* Sort and distribute incoming mail and complete routine practice forms, records, and reports
* Address cancelled appointments and follow up per practice cancellation policy
* Maintain daily task list in EHR ensuring accurate and up-to-date appointment scheduling information
* Assist in training new staff on the patient check-in process
* Maintain patient confidentiality and a safe, clean environment in accordance with service excellence standards
