Opportunity:

Physical Therapist

Job Details:

* Day shift hours from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* 8-hour shift, full-time
* No weekend requirement
* No on-call requirement
* Dress code: Khaki pants and white polo
* Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure required
* BLS certification from AHA required
* Doctorate, Masters, Bachelors, or Associates Degree in Physical Therapy required
* Assess and treat neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems using physical or mechanical means to maintain or restore function
* Develop, implement, and monitor individualized plans of care for patients
* Evaluate patients prior to treatment, incorporating psychological and physical considerations including thorough chart review
* Administer and direct all physical therapy treatments and modalities including therapeutic exercises, hot moist packs, cryotherapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, continuous passive motion, paraffin, soft tissue mobilization, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility training
* Verify physician orders prior to evaluation and maintain ongoing communication with referring physicians regarding patient progress
* Acquire and inspect equipment for safety and educate patients and families on treatment procedures and equipment use
* Assemble and instruct patients and families on home exercise programs as indicated
* Direct and oversee PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants during physical therapy treatments
* Maintain accurate and thorough patient treatment records including subjective and objective information, assessments, and plans
* Approve and co-sign progress notes written by PT/PT Assistants with temporary licensure
* Complete discharge summaries and forward to referring physicians as indicated
* Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
* Maintain productivity standards and ensure charges correlate with treatment documentation
* Maintain professional competence through continuing education and licensure requirements
