Opportunity:

Dietitian - Clinical Nutrition

Job Details:

* Work five 8-hour shifts per week (40 hours), including required weekend shifts
* Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
* No guarantee of hours or shift preference
* Typical days off are Tuesday and Wednesday
* May occasionally be required to work alone, though not on a routine basis
* Stationed at the food and nutrition services department while providing services across multiple units including medical, surgical/pediatric, progressive care, OB, intensive care, long term care, and psychiatric units
* One day per month, provide dietetic services at two off-site long term care facilities (travel expenses and time are the traveler's/agency's responsibility)
* Correct menus and make menu changes for kitchen staff
* Serve as a resource for food service management and kitchen staff regarding diet clarification and nutrition support
* Review patient assessment requests and conduct patient interviews
* Perform nutrition assessments and make nutrition recommendations as needed
* Follow up with physician consults and provide nutrition education
* Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or ICU rounds
* Collaborate with food service and medical staff to provide optimal patient care
* Utilize computer charting and electronic menu systems
* Perform nutrition assessments for pediatric to geriatric patients
* Apply Medical Nutrition Therapy for acute care, long term care, and critical care settings
* Estimate caloric, protein, and fluid nutrition needs
* Provide Nutrition Support including Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition
* Develop and update nutrition care plans and complete Minimum Data Sets
* Chart in electronic medical records
* Minimum one year of clinical nutrition experience required
* Must be a Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
* Active State of Hawaii license required by start of assignment
* Dress code is business and professional; lab coats are optional
