Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available with scheduling options: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
* Night shift position, every other weekend schedule
* No block scheduling - traveler must be flexible with scheduling
* 4 weekend shifts required per month (1 per week or 2 every other week)
* Travelers are expected to work holidays unless the holiday falls during contracted time off
* No on-call requirement, but may be placed on standby for low census with a 30-minute response time if called in
* Must have a minimum of 2 years of ER experience
* No first-time travelers accepted
* Individual submissions only - duos not accepted
* Required to float to Pediatric ER
* Must have experience with both pediatric and adult patients (approximately 50% of patient population is pediatric)
* Must have triage experience
* Must have experience comparable to approximately 325 patient visits per day
* Patient ratios: ICU 1:2, Pediatric 1:4, Adult 1:4, Procedural Sedation 1:1
* Common diagnoses include minor walk-ins to critically ill patients: respiratory failure, asthma, abdominal pain, fractures, substance abuse, and psych holds
* Adult ER serves as a STEMI, CVA, and burn receiving center
* Pediatric ER is a receiving center for pediatrics
* Adult ER has 36 treatment areas; Pediatric ER has 12 treatment areas plus 8 fast track pods
* Fast track area is run by LVNs and RNs out of the lobby
* ER holds are intermixed within the ER and managed by ED RNs
* In-house security available
* Charting system: Cerner
* Phillips telemetry with monitor tech support
* Phlebotomy team handles blood draws
* Basic EKG interpretation test required during orientation; critical care RNs will have additional testing including STEMI curriculum and Procedural Sedation curriculum
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS
* Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
* No hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweat jackets permitted
* BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility features a high-volume emergency department with both adult and pediatric emergency services operating 24/7. The adult emergency department contains 36 treatment areas and serves as a receiving center for STEMI, CVA, and burn patients, while the pediatric emergency department includes 12 treatment areas and 8 fast track pods, seeing approximately 30,000 pediatric patients per year. The facility is supported by dedicated ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, ER technicians, CNAs, and LVNs, with comprehensive ancillary support including respiratory therapy, radiology, and Phillips telemetry monitoring.
