Job Details:
* Variable shift scheduling with four 9-hour day shifts scheduled Monday through Friday
* Start times depend on daily assignment:
- Pre-op RN shifts: 6:30 AM?4:00 PM or 7:00 AM?4:30 PM (2 RNs in pre-op per day)
- PACU RN shifts: 8:00 AM?5:30 PM or 8:30 AM?6:00 PM (3 RNs in PACU per day)
- Procedure RN shifts: 7:30 AM?5:00 PM (2 to 4 RNs per day depending on volume)
* One overnight call shift per week beginning at the end of your 9-hour shift until 7:00 AM; if not working on a call day, call begins at 5:00 PM
* Two weekend call shifts during a 6-week period from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM (may be two Saturdays, two Sundays, or one Saturday and one Sunday)
* Call requirements will not exceed 2 (24-hour) weekend call shifts and 6 weeknight shifts per 6-week scheduling period
* Patient ratios are variable based on case volumes with a typical staff range of 12?16
* Prior endoscopy nursing experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and active NC or compact state nursing license
* Preferred experience includes pediatric endoscopy, pulmonary endoscopy, and endoscopy tech experience
* Typical procedures include adult and pediatric EGD, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, EBUS, bronchoscopy, ION navigational bronchoscopy, esophageal/duodenal/colonic/Axios stent placements, PEG placement, tracheostomy placement, pulmonary cryo therapy, capsule endoscopy, and foreign body removal
* Equipment used includes Olympus Scopes, ERBE, Medivator, ION, Boston Scientific, and Cook
* EMR system: Cerner
* Dress code: Green surgical scrubs provided; navy blue scrubs are also acceptable
* No block scheduling accommodated
* Floating to other units only if traveler volunteers
Facility:
This is an 815-bed acute care facility serving as the regional referral center for tertiary and quaternary care in western North Carolina. It is the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and children's hospital in the region. The facility offers a wide range of specialties including cardiovascular, orthopedics, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, women's services, and behavioral health. An onsite children's hospital features 96 dedicated beds including a 51-bed Level III Neonatal ICU. The facility recently opened a new state-of-the-art patient tower exceeding 630,000 square feet, housing a new emergency department, interventional procedural rooms, operating rooms, and 220 private patient rooms.
