Job Details:

* Strong neuro experience required
* Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers not accepted
* Self-scheduling with a patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* Weekend coverage required
* No on-call required
* May float to PCU/Tele and ICU overflow in rotation with all team members; travelers do not float first
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiovascular conditions, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, STEMI, motor vehicle accidents, and orthopedic cases
* Unit includes 24 beds plus 12 overflow beds
* Perform and manage procedures including arterial lines, intubations, conscious sedation, GI procedures at the bedside for unstable patients, and chest tube management
* Travelers will not be required to assist with ICP monitoring or placement, or IABP
* Utilize equipment including Alaris pumps, Roche meters, Bedside Phillips monitoring, ventilators, suction, drains, and chest tubes
* Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
* Scrub color: Any color
* Free parking available
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process prior to start
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, LA City Fire Card

This is an acute care Magnet-designated hospital with 377 total staffed beds, recognized for nursing excellence and high standards of patient care. The facility operates as a Level 2 Trauma Center and a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, with a high-acuity neuro population and capabilities including STEMI receiving, CABG, valve procedures, IABP, CRRT, and sepsis management.
