Opportunity:
RN - Cardiac Telemetry
Job Details:
* Work on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
* Must work full-time hours including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
* Contract nurses may be floated to any area where demonstrated competency exists
* Required dress code: Navy Blue scrubs; may wear black scrub pants with Navy Blue top
* Must have Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience including reading and interpreting EKGs and telemetry strips
* Must have experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, Post Op Day 1 Open Heart, and permanent pacemaker placements
* Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
* Perform procedures including IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
* Work with equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap, Welch Allen Vital Machines, Wound Vacs, Temporary Pacemakers, Telemetry monitors, EKG machines, Bladder Scanners, Doppler, and Imobile communication system
* Documentation completed in Meditech system
* Unit support staff includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
* Must align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect, using preferred names, making personal connections, involving patients in bedside shift report, and ensuring patient needs are met before leaving the room
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
