Job Details:

* Self-scheduling with no block schedules required
* Weekend shifts required - 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
* No on-call required
* Patient ratios: 1:4 during days and nights, 1:5 on weekends
* Position may float between units
* 48-hour shifts not approved
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* BLS certification required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Charting system experience required; experience with any system accepted (EPIC currently in use)
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Level II Trauma experience preferred
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Required skills include: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, neuro stepdown, telemetry remote monitoring, aneurysms and repair, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, pre/post neurosurgery, post TPA care, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal
* Care for patients with diagnoses including TIA/Stroke, trauma, epilepsy, and neurosurgical conditions such as ACDF, TLIF, XLIF, craniotomy, and subdural hematoma
* Work closely with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy in an interdisciplinary team environment
* Unit supports 29 beds with a daily census of approximately 27 patients
* Special equipment includes Viking Lift, Sara Steady, and Hoovermat
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel: solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire; print tops are not acceptable
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lot designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility operates with 379 staffed beds and holds a Level II Trauma Center designation. The facility features a comprehensive stroke center and a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with designated beds for continuous EEG monitoring. The interdisciplinary support team includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The facility is known for its high level of teamwork, fast-paced environment, and dedicated mentors available to support new caregivers.
