Opportunity:
Respiratory Therapist - ICU
Job Details:
* Night shift position with hours of 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM depending on facility location
* Will float between two facility locations - shift hours vary by location
* Every other weekend and holiday requirement
* No on-call responsibilities
* Patient ratio of 5 vents to one therapist
* Gray scrubs required
* Must have adult ICU experience
* 1 to 3 years of experience preferred
* Responsible for pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision
* Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans
* Perform various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout all areas of the hospital
* Respond to emergency codes including Code Blue and White
* Perform airway management including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
* Deliver aerosolized drugs and manage ventilator setup and operation
* Manage airway support devices including BiPAP and CPAP
* Manage oxygen delivery devices and perform therapeutic monitoring
* Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
* Maintain accurate and complete documentation
* Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management, pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, and transport duties
* RRTs may function as Shift Leader or Team Leader
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC
* RT or RCP License in state of employment required
